Project
The Lodge Wadjemup

A UNIQUE, NEW, LOW-IMPACT DEVELOPMENT THAT REFLECTS THE RELAXED INFORMALITY OF ROTTNEST AND PAYS RESPECTS TO THE ISLAND’S INDIGENOUS SIGNIFICANCE.

Key Aspects

The Lodge Wadjemup will expand Rottnest’s accommodation, food and beverage and tourism offer following a $40 million transformation of the former Karma Rottnest site.

Led by Place Development, the project will be delivered by a carefully curated consortium of best-in-class Western Australian operators and see the existing site transformed into a 109-room resort offering a range of mixed accommodation types and amenity including guest pool, dining yard + bar for all Island visitors and street-facing kiosk.

Connected to nature and acknowledging the Island’s indigenous significance, a dedicated cultural space - the Gathering Ground - will sit at the heart of the new Rottnest Lodge offering year-round activation.

The precinct will cater for both inhouse guests and visitors to the Island.

Work commenced from June 2022 and is anticipated for completion in 2025.
